Enhanced Efficacy and Safety in Chronic Constipation
An interim analysis of postmarketing surveillance was conducted to assess the safety and efficacy of elobixibat in elderly patients with chronic constipation. The evaluation of safety (n=1049) and efficacy outcomes (n=986) was based on patient interviews conducted over a 4-week period.2
In the age groups of 65+ and 75+ years, there was a significant increase in the number of bowel movements per week and higher mean BSFS scores at weeks 2 and 4 compared with those at baseline.2
