He is currently the Director of the Heart Failure Clinic at Fortis Hospital, Mulund, where he also performs cardiac catheterization interventions. His consulting rooms in Mulund, Mumbai, include a non-invasive cardiac lab. Dr. Karnik has previously served at renowned institutions like the Mayo Clinic in the USA and Freeman Hospital in the UK. He has an exceptional academic record, being the first in his class in M.B.B.S., M.D. (Med.), and D.M. (Cardiology) exams, earning six gold medals. He was the first cardiologist in Bombay to implant an ICD-Pacemaker device.
